Job summary

Manchester City Football Club is seeking a Mechanical Workshop Manager based on-site at the City Football Academy in Manchester. You will lead the day-to-day operation of the Grounds workshop, ensuring maintenance, servicing and repairs are carried out safely and to high standards to support training, matchday and operations.

The role involves planning preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, coordinating repairs, managing parts and records, and assisting with the fit-out of a new workshop,

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and repairing grounds maintenance machinery or similar equipment.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Ability to plan preventative maintenance and coordinate workshop activity.
• Experience managing workshop stock, parts and maintenance records.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to workshops.
• Relevant qualification or proven practical experience with clear technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Grounds workshop.
• Plan preventative maintenance and prioritise workshop activity.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Coordinate repairs and maintain equipment histories and compliance records.
• Manage stock and spare parts and raise procurement requests.
• Support the fit-out and development of a new workshop.
• Collaborate with Grounds, Facilities, suppliers and service providers.
