Job summary

Nationwide Platforms Limited is seeking a Workshop Manager/Foreman to oversee the Manchester depot’s workshop and field‑based engineering activities. You will manage a large mixed fleet, implement engineering policies, and drive improvements while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have prior supervision experience in a plant hire environment, formal engineering qualifications (C&G 390/NVQ3 or equivalent), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising engineering teams in plant hire environments.
• Formally trained in an engineering discipline and qualified to C&G 390/NVQ3 or equivalent.
• Strong upward and downward communication skills and safety focus.
• Knowledge of powered access equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all resources related to maintenance of a large mixed fleet of powered access equipment.
• Ensure effective implementation of engineering policies and procedures.
• Maintain high equipment availability and reliability at optimum cost.
• Support compliance with QHSE standards and legislative requirements.
• Deliver technical initiatives and projects through to satisfactory outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering standards and best practices.
• Provide technical advice to location staff and colleagues across regions.
• Maintain stock levels for spares, fuels and lubricants and liaise with suppliers.
