Job summary

Manchester City is seeking a Mechanical Workshop Manager to run the on-site workshop at the City Football Academy, ensuring maintenance, servicing and repairs are carried out safely to a high standard. You will diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and manage stock, records and procurement.

The role requires coordinating with Grounds and Landscaping teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders, and involves evening/weekend work as part of a brand-new facility build

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining grounds maintenance machinery or comparable specialist plant.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Plan preventive maintenance prioritising operational needs.
• Manage workshop stock, spare parts and maintenance records.
• Understand health and safety in workshop environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the Grounds workshop.
• Plan maintenance, servicing and repairs safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate repairs and maintain equipment histories.
• Support procurement and equipment replacement planning.
• Provide technical guidance and improve workshop operations.
