Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of mechanical services on a major Cambridge project. You will manage programme, subcontractors, technical delivery and ensure quality and safety across the lifecycle.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management and a good understanding of building services installation and commissioning, with CSCS and SMSTS qualifications desirable; you will work with the project team to

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience delivering mechanical building services on major construction projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Strong programme, commercial and technical awareness.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for delivery of mechanical services throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage mechanical subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors.
• Lead mechanical design development and coordination.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, structural, architectural and other disciplines.
• Develop and manage project programmes, ensuring milestones are achieved.
• Monitor progress, quality and performance against targets.
• Work with commercial team on procurement, variations, cost control and package performance.
• Identify and manage technical, commercial and programme risks.
• Attend client, consultant and subcontractor meetings.
• Manage RFIs and design coordination.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with project specifications and standards.
• Oversee testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental performance.
