Job summary

CIBSE Journal in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to support delivery of water infrastructure projects under the Yorkshire Water framework. Lead mechanical activities from design through commissioning and handover, coordinating across multidisciplinary teams.

You will manage subcontractors, procurement schedules, and technical submissions while ensuring health, safety and quality across the full project lifecycle for projects valued 2m+.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical project engineering.
• Experience in MEICA within water, infrastructure or similar process industry.
• Knowledge of pumps, pipework, valves, treatment equipment and related plant.
• Experience managing subcontractors, procurement and project delivery.
• Experience delivering projects valued at 2m+.
• Commercially aware with strong stakeholder management.
• CSCS card and driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical engineering activities across the full project lifecycle.
• Manage technical submissions, drawings and procurement schedules.
• Review mechanical equipment specifications, procurement packages and subcontractor submissions.
• Coordinate mechanical plant with Civil, Electrical, ICA and Process disciplines.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning and technical queries.
• Manage subcontractors and support project review meetings.
• Assist with variations, valuations, cost control and commercial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with client, health & safety and quality requirements.
• Support the Project Manager and deputise when required.
