Job summary

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Project or Design) to join a key contractor delivering multi‑million £ Yorkshire Water projects in the UK.

The role covers full project life cycles from concept through to handover, with responsibilities including hydraulic calculations, ALM/HAZOP workshops, and coordination with design teams to deliver robust water systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering from project delivery or design within Water/Wastewater sectors.
• Experience working for a contractor or consultancy.
• HNC/HND or degree qualification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hydraulic calculations for pumped and gravity systems.
• Participate in ALM / HAZOP workshops.
• Review internal documents and support project teams.
• Select equipment and lead supplier discussions.
• Work with design team to prepare detailed models and drawings.
