Job summary

CDM Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Estimator for a leading M&E Contractor near Newcastle. This role requires a strong background in estimating for Commercial, Residential and Retail projects across the UK.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience, with exposure to project management duties considered. You will review tender documents, measure quantities from drawings and liaise with Managers, Engineers and Clients to secure competitive

Qualifications

• At least 5 years estimating experience; candidates with estimating duties in a project management role will be considered.
• Ability to review tender enquiry documents with accuracy.
• Experience recording, measuring and taking-off quantities from tender drawings.
• Strong communication with Managers/Engineers/Clients.
• Negotiation with suppliers/sub-contractors and procurement teams.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiry documents and ensure completeness.
• Record, measure and take-off quantities from tender drawings.
• Liaise with Managers, Engineers and Clients throughout the bid process.
• Negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors to optimise costings.
• Prepare material and sub-contractor analysis sheets.
• Assist in the preparation of tender adjudication sheets.
• Discuss and agree tender adjustments with Senior Managers.
• Assist, collate and prepare tenders for submission or post-tender responses.

We are currnelty working on behalf of a leading M&E Contractor, they are currently seeking an Senior Mechanical Estimator for their office near Newcastle. The company undertakes a variety of projects throughout the UK including Commercial, Residential and Retail, Due to project wins and volume of work they are keen to add someone to the business asap

The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years Estimating experience, they will also look at candidates who have undertook estimating duties while working in a project management role..

You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the following:

• Review tender enquiry documents

• Liaise with purchasing and negotiate with suppliers/sub-contractors
