Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. In a role based across Bristol, Cardiff or Exeter, you’ll collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, sustainable engineering solutions that meet project outcomes and client needs.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards.
• Experience delivering mechanical design within the water sector or other regulated infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering standards and industry best practice.
• Experience delivering technical design packages across multidisciplinary projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design activities from feasibility to detailed design and construction support.
• Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications, schedules, reports and documentation.
• Lead the design of pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment works, pipelines and related mechanical infrastructure.
• Undertake site visits, surveys and technical investigations as required.
• Collaborate with electrical, process, civil and structural engineers for integrated solutions.
• Guide clients, contractors and internal stakeholders while mentoring developing engineers.
