Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Water division on UK projects with hybrid working. Roles include leading design teams on pumping, water and wastewater systems for major water authorities.

You will deliver technical reports, drawings, and calculations, mentor engineers, and contribute to bids while ensuring compliance with UK standards and CDM/DSEAR.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience coordinating a Mechanical design delivery team.
• Knowledge of UK design standards including CDM and DSEAR.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Proficiency in analytical software and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage a team of mechanical engineers for complex design delivery.
• Produce and review technical deliverables such as reports, drawings and calculations.
• Provide input into project design deliverables and manage time/budgets to milestones.
• Collaborate with internal and client teams across projects.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and grow local mechanical capabilities.
• Support bid proposals and deliver integrated design solutions with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ensure adherence to QA standards and check/review own and others' work.

Education
