Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Mechanical Engineer at Principal/Senior level for water sector projects in Warrington. The role is hybrid and involves leading feasibility through detailed design for wastewater and water treatment.

You will work with clients and senior engineers to develop mechanical solutions, review site infrastructure, produce outputs such as specifications, calculations, drawings, reports and risk assessments, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering or closely allied subject; ideally IMechE accredited.
• Significant water industry experience; chartered or working towards chartership.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, P&IDs, specifications and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary wastewater and water treatment projects from feasibility through detailed design.
• Develop mechanical solutions and review site infrastructure.
• Produce specifications, calculations, drawings, reports and design risk assessments.
• Support delivery across major frameworks and mentor junior engineers.
