ACTEMIUM Design UK, part of VINCI Energies, is recruiting a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to author Mechanical Design Substantiation Reports underpinning process systems. This is initially a seconded position with the client, offering staff or contract options within IR35.

The role requires designing substantiation for nuclear safety, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and ensuring compliance with safety case methodologies and legal frameworks.

Formación

• Experience in design substantiation and safety case involvement for highly regulated industries.
• Familiar with safety case methodologies and nuclear safety legal framework.
• Excellent oral and written communication; presentation and report writing.
• Several years’ experience in design engineering.
• Degree with honours or Level 6 equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent (or working towards).

Responsabilidades

• Authoring nuclear substantiation documentation and Design Substantiation Reports (DSR).
• Reviewing safety case documentation and identifying design shortfalls.
• Liaising with internal and external designers and equipment vendors to gather information.
• Interrogating the Engineering Schedule and evidencing SSC claims in the documentation.
• Interfacing with Human Factors, Fire Safety, Criticality, Radiological and client Technical Authority.
