Job summary

M5tec Limited in the UK is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, analysis and delivery of mechanical systems across the full lifecycle. This role requires guiding a multi-disciplinary team, translating client requirements into practical, compliant solutions, and communicating complex concepts to stakeholders.

A Chartered/Incorporated engineer with 7+ years in regulated industries is preferred; strong collaboration and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum 2nd class degree or equivalent in Electrical / Control / Mechatronic engineering or related discipline.
• At least 7 years of applied engineering and design experience in highly regulated industries such as Nuclear, Subsea, Renewables, Oil and Gas and Defence.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials science and structural analysis.
• Chartered / Incorporated engineer or working towards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain concepts to non-engineers.
• Experience leading a team of engineers and delivering engineered solutions.

Responsibilities

• Applying mechanical engineering principles to design, analysis and development of systems, machines and components.
• Producing concept, detailed and layout designs with calculations.
• Producing and reviewing technical documentation, specifications and reports.
• Supporting prototype development, testing, and commissioning.
• Engaging with clients and end users to translate technical information into practical outcomes.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and engineering standards.
