Qualifications

• Minimum 2nd class degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–2 years post-graduate experience in engineering, preferably in regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of core mechanical engineering principles (dynamics, thermodynamics, materials).
• Practical, problem-solving approach and ability to deliver engineered solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize safe, sustainable solutions for design, production and operation of systems.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to design, analysis, and development of systems and components.
• Produce concept, detail, and layout designs with supporting calculations and analyses.
• Prepare and review technical documents, specifications and reports.
• Support prototype development, testing, trials and commissioning activities.
• Analyse test results and feed insights back into design improvements.
• Collaborate with electrical, control, software and structural engineers for integrated solutions.
• Engage with clients and end users, translating technical information into practical outcomes.
• Support project delivery while understanding commercial, regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Adhere to engineering standards, quality procedures and health and safety requirements.

Our engineer role requires the application of engineering and scientific principles to deliver and optimise safe, sustainable solutions for the design, construction, production, and operation of systems, devices, machines, structures, and processes through the full lifecycle from requirements, to design, manufacture and commissioning.

An enthusiasm for engineering combined with the proven ability to analyse problems and develop effective solutions using a strong understanding of engineering principles within a chosen discipline. A practical background is preferred with several years of applied experience is necessary.

The ability to communicate is essential with excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly to non-engineers and stakeholders.

It is a broad and diverse role involving working both individually and in internal multi-disciplinary teams as well as with the end user in different locations. The role requires the practicing of sustainability, integrity, ethics, diversity, and inclusion to deliver a successful solution.

Responsibilities & Duties

As a Mechanical Engineer at M5tec, your responsibilities may include:

• Creating and optimising safe, sustainable solutions for the design, construction, production, and operation of systems, devices, machines, structures, and processes.
• Applying mechanical engineering principles to the design, analysis, and development of systems machines, and components..
• Producing concept, detailed, and layout design supported by engineering calculations and analysis.
• Producing and reviewing technical documentation, specifications and reports.
• Supporting prototype development, testing, trials, and commissioning activities
• Analysing test results and feeding back into design improvements.
• Working closely with electrical, control, software, and structural engineers to deliver integrated solutions
• Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and end users, helping translate technical information into clear, practical outcomes

What We're Looking For

• A Minimum 2 nd class degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of post-graduate experience in an engineering role preferably within highly regulated industries such as Nuclear, Subsea, Renewables, Oil and Gas and Defence.
• Strong knowledge of core mechanical engineering principles, including:

• A practical, problem-solving approach to engineering challenges
• Evidence of the successful delivery of engineered solutions
