Job summary

M5tec Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Graduate Design Engineer to apply engineering and scientific principles across the full lifecycle of products and systems, from requirements through to commissioning, delivering safe and sustainable solutions.

You will work in multi-disciplinary teams, communicate clearly with non-engineers, analyse problems, and contribute to design optimisation, trials, and project delivery with integrity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Degree (or expected) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent,
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities,
• Excellent written and verbal communication to convey technical concepts to non-engineers
• Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
• Commitment to sustainability, integrity, ethics, diversity and inclusion

Responsibilities

• Create and optimise products, systems and components meeting requirements with collaboration and problem-solving.
• Develop systems or products through conceptualization, analysis, design optimization and material selection.
• Produce detailed technical drawings, CAD models, prototypes and simulations to validate performance and manufacturability.
• Support concept, detailed and layout design activities; assist with manufacture, testing, trials and commissioning.
• Collaborate with electrical, control, software and structural engineers for integrated solutions.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, translating technical information into practical outcomes.
• Support project delivery while understanding commercial, contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to engineering standards, quality procedures and health and safety requirements.
