Job summary

WSP in London is seeking an experienced Senior/Associate Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of data centre mechanical systems. You will develop designs from CHW, HVAC, Fuel to LTHW and coordinate with MEP teams.

The role offers involvement in fast-paced projects with Colocation Providers and End Users across the UK/EMEA, with Chartered status preferred and hands-on experience with RevitMEP, AutoCAD and CFD tools.

Qualifications

Experience designing mechanical systems for data centres.
Chartered status with CIBSE/IMechE or working towards it.
Solid knowledge of UK/EU regulations and design guides.
Understanding of Uptime Institute Tier Classification.
Proficiency with RevitMEP, AutoCAD and 3D design tools.
Ability to lead, mentor and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Develop mechanical distribution designs for CHW, HVAC, Fuel and LTHW within data centres.
Provide client advice on mechanical system options to meet business needs.
Lead the design of data centre mechanical systems and equipment.
Produce design development notes and technical specifications.
Coordinate with Architect and Structural engineers and other disciplines.
Monitor installation to ensure conformance with design and safety codes.
Deliver feasibility studies and detailed performance specifications.
Guide junior engineers and review project programmes to ensure resource availability.
