Job summary

AIXTRON Ltd in Swavesey, United Kingdom, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive mechanical design for our bespoke MOCVD equipment. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, delivering robust subsystems and components in a modern engineering office with a quality system and safety framework.

The role requires an engineering degree in mechanical discipline (HNC+), practical, 3D CAD experience (Creo), and familiarity with SAP.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in a mechanical discipline or equivalent qualification/experience (minimum HNC + experience).
Practical background, ideally apprenticeship based.
3D CAD design experience (Creo).
Microsoft Office capable (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience in material science would be beneficial.
Experience in vacuum systems, pneumatics, gas systems, automation an advantage.
Experience in ERP systems (SAP) desirable.
Professional registration with a relevant Engineering body encouraged and preferred.
Accurate, thorough, consistent, pro-active, assertive.
Team player.

Responsibilities

Mechanical design of the Company’s bespoke special purpose scientific equipment.
Under the guidance of principal engineers they will provide detailed designs for sub-systems and components.
You will adopt the working practices of a modern engineering office and a company wide quality system.
Responsible for adhering to standards that AIXTRON Ltd set to ensure safety at work, which includes following procedures, handling machinery and substances correctly, and participating in any safety training required.
