Job summary

AIXTRON Ltd, based in Cambridgeshire, is seeking a Graduate Electrical Controls Engineer to advance MOCVD system design and testing. You will design controls, work with production on build issues, and support installations, while staying compliant with safety procedures and current machinery standards.

The role offers a hybrid working environment, with strong development opportunities and exposure to cutting-edge semiconductor equipment used in 5G, fibre, LEDs and EV applications.

Qualifications

• Engineering / Scientific degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of field-bus systems (DeviceNet, Ethercat) and PLC control.
• Knowledge in drive systems, pneumatic control, and automation technology.
• Experience in electro-pneumatic/mechanical systems, 3-phase power distribution and heater control systems.
• Understanding of machinery design legislation and standards.
• Experience with E-Plan software.

Responsibilities

• Configure system designs and controls to meet customer order requirements.
• Work closely with production to resolve issues identified during build and testing.
• Provide technical support during system installation phases.
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures; participate in safety training.
