Job summary

Manpower, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design across complex building services projects in the Witney region, Oxfordshire.

The role involves taking projects from feasibility to commissioning, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and maintaining strong client relationships. You will apply advanced knowledge of IES, Revit and AutoCAD, drive sustainable design, and support option appraisals, fees and project finance.

Qualifications

• Extensive building services design experience.
• Experience with sustainability and low-carbon design.
• Client-facing engagement with diverse stakeholders.
• Progress toward Chartership or Chartered Engineer status, with IESVE experience.
• Experience spanning consultancy design and on-site surveying or management.
• Electrical design exposure within building services.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design on multidisciplinary projects from feasibility through commissioning and handover.
• Deliver to programme, quality and budget expectations.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications and reports.
• Support feasibility studies and option appraisals.
• Manage client relationships and lead technical discussions.
• Coordinate design teams and external stakeholders in live environments.
• Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians.
• Review construction progress and commissioning activities.
• Contribute to fee proposals and bid submissions.
• Support project financial performance and resource planning.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead mechanical design on multidisciplinary projects from feasibility through to commissioning and handover

• Coordinate design teams and external stakeholders (often within live or mission-critical environments)
• Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians
• Review construction progress and commissioning activities
• Contribute to fee proposals and bid submissions
• Support project financial performance and resource planning

What you’ll bring:

• Extensive building services design experience
• Advanced working knowledge of IES, Revit and AutoCAD
• A strong grounding in sustainability and low-carbon design
• Confidence working client-facing and engaging effectively with a range of stakeholders
• Experience approaching Chartership level, and/or experience with IESVE and Chartered Engineer status
• Experience spanning both consultancy design and on-site surveying or site management
• Approach electrical design experience (as part of the wider building services context)
• Ability to support work within environments requiring UK SC level clearance
