Job summary

Manpower UK is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a permanent role in Witney. You will lead mechanical design across multidisciplinary projects, from feasibility through commissioning, ensuring delivery to programme, quality and budget targets.

You will prepare calculations, specs and reports, support feasibility studies, manage client relationships and coordinate design teams, often in live environments. UK SC clearance might be required; flexible/remote working options available.

This permanent Senior Mechanical Engineer position in Witney offers a salary of £60,000 to £65,000 and sits within a people-focused consultancy serving Defence, Security, Public Sector, Heritage, Advanced Manufacturing, Commercial and Education clients. The successful candidate will lead mechanical design across multidisciplinary projects, from feasibility through commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery to programme, quality and budget targets. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing calculations, specifications and reports, supporting feasibility studies and option appraisals, managing client relationships and leading technical discussions. Coordinating design teams and external stakeholders, often within live operational settings, is also central. Applicants should demonstrate strong technical design capability, project delivery skills and confident stakeholder communication. What you''ll be doing:

• Lead mechanical design on multidisciplinary projects from feasibility through to commissioning and handover
• Deliver to programme, quality and budget expectations
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications and reports
• Support feasibility studies and option appraisals
• Manage client relationships and lead technical discussions
• Coordinate design teams and external stakeholders (often within live or mission-critical environments)
• Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians
• Review construction progress and commissioning activities
• Contribute to fee proposals and bid submissions
• Support project financial performance and resource planning

What you''ll bring:

• Extensive building services design experience
• Advanced working knowledge of IES, Revit and AutoCAD
• A strong grounding in sustainability and low-carbon design
• Confidence working client-facing and engaging effectively with a range of stakeholders
• Experience approaching Chartership level, and/or experience with IESVE and Chartered Engineer status
• Experience spanning both consultancy design and on-site surveying or site management
• Approach electrical design experience (as part of the wider building services context)
• Ability to support work within environments requiring UK SC level clearance
