Your Day-to-Day:

• Responsible for developing design solutions using AutoCAD / Inventor and directing engineers/designers in producing complex design solutions.
• Performing simple calculations and guiding engineers/designers in complex calculations.
• Checking others' work to ensure high standards and compliance with all relevant internal and client procedures.
• Producing technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, and Method Statements.
• Owning design deliverables throughout all project phases, from design to decommissioning, ensuring the Design Intent is maintained.
• Producing and verifying CDM Risk Registers and documentation for Technical Files of new products, plant, and equipment.
• Presenting technical solutions to clients and stakeholders in formal and informal settings, demonstrating broad technical knowledge.
• Presenting at design reviews and HAZOPs.
• Supporting the development of project safety cases, including HAZID and HAZOP attendance, and producing safety documents and engineering justifications.
• Developing estimates, deliverables, and program logic at bid/tender stages, and contributing to cost assessments.
• Managing a team of engineers/designers to meet project engineering scope.
• Mentoring team members to improve skills and enhance company capabilities.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key client or partner contacts.
• Assessing concessions and technical queries.
• Preparing and reviewing quality plans for work packages.

Who You Are:

• Legally eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Chartered Member of the IMechE (preferred).
• Knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives applicable to mechanical design.
• Proven experience in mechanical design theories, principles, and practices.
• Experience in producing Technical Files for new products and plant equipment.
• Detailed design knowledge of mechanical mechanisms or bespoke equipment for nuclear applications.
• Familiarity with relevant drawing standards (BS8888, BS5070, BS EN 61082) and experience in the nuclear industry.
