Talent Acquisition Manager at the Austin Company

Austin’s work revolves around the Life Science sector and designing R&D laboratories and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. You will handle engineering assignments ranging from mechanical designs to design lead roles of a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, you will support site delivery as part of Austin's broader project construction team.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will likely manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will take ownership of mechanical projects, ensuring delivery according to the agreed programme and resource allocation. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of in-house architects, engineers, and project managers. Additionally, you will be involved in investigating and utilising the latest technologies, designing to meet client’s Net Zero sustainability targets, and addressing complex design aspects of life science sector projects.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will work closely with the Head of Department to enhance departmental capabilities.

What do we need from you?

• UK experience 10+ years, preferably in the building services sector
• A keen interest in working on complex and challenging projects
• An engineering degree in a relevant discipline
• Membership of a Professional Engineering Institution (preferable)
• Experience in design within a relevant industry sector
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, experience with 3D Revit models, Navisworks Viewer, and familiarity with Microsoft Teams
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to identify and resolve technical design or quality issues
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to effectively present to clients
• Self-motivated team player
• Flexibility, adaptability, proactive attitude; willingness to engage in design tasks, client meetings, and site visits
• Valid UK driving license
