Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd is working with a privately owned multidisciplinary consultancy in Nottingham to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. The role offers £50,000-£60,000 per year, based on a 36.25 hour week, and covers healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and public sector schemes.

You will lead mechanical design across varied projects, provide guidance to junior engineers, and collaborate with clients from inception through to completion, using

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• HNC/HND with suitable building services design experience will also be considered.
• Chartered status or currently working towards Chartership.
• Experience using Revit and other design software.
• Knowledge of British and European Standards and Building Regulations.
• Knowledge of HTMs would be beneficial.
• Professional membership of CIBSE, IET or a similar professional body.
• Knowledge of sustainable design and renewable technologies.
• Working knowledge of BREEAM.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Acting as Project Leader on selected projects
• Working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team on larger projects
• Attending project meetings and making client presentations
• Providing technical guidance and support to more junior members of the team
• Supporting technical excellence within the mechanical engineering team
• Developing relationships with key clients and supporting repeat business
• Working on a variety of technically challenging projects across different sectors
• Taking a client-facing role throughout projects from inception to completion
• Producing mechanical engineering drawings and specifications

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical engineering design across a variety of projects, working with a high degree of autonomy while also supporting more junior members of the team.
