Job summary

Skilled Careers is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Nottingham team. You will lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative, technically strong environment.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of HVAC and UK Building Regulations, and Chartered or working towards CEng/CIBSE membership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' relevant mechanical building services experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
• Experience in an M&E consultancy or contractor environment.
• Chartered or working towards CEng/CIBSE membership would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects.
• Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Develop designs from concept through to construction.
• Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Liaise with clients, architects and contractors.
• Attend design meetings and provide technical guidance.
• Support junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Ensure designs meet UK regulations and project requirements.
• Manage project deliverables, programmes and deadlines.
• Assist with technical reviews and quality assurance.

A leading M&E consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Nottingham team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical building services professional looking to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients and develop their career within a collaborative and technically strong environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects.
• Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Develop designs from concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants.
• Attend design and project meetings and provide technical guidance.
• Support junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Ensure designs meet relevant UK regulations, standards and project requirements.
• Manage project deliverables, programmes and deadlines.
• Assist with technical reviews, quality assurance and project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 5+ years' relevant mechanical building services experience.
• Strong experience within an M&E consultancy or contractor environment.
• Good knowledge of HVAC, heating, cooling and other mechanical building services.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through to construction.
• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and relevant standards.
• Strong client–facing and communication skills.
• Experience using relevant design and calculation software.
• Ability to manage your own workload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Chartered or working towards CEng/CIBSE membership would be advantageous.
