Role- Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary- £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Type- Permanent
Location- Derbyshire

My client is an Engineering company in the Renewable Energy sector. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Derbyshire on a permanent basis.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 10 or more years’ of industry experience working in similar design and analysis focused role
• Excellent proficiency with CAD software – ideally SolidWorks or similar
• Proven ability to drive Engineering development
• Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
• Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, structural steel, process pipework etc.
• The ability to understand system requirements
• Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Senior Mechanical Engineer role will involve:

• Remote work (At home) with UK based project work assignments
• Perform development activities and find new mechanical solutions
• Being involved in the product design and development process using CAD
• Working with high precision instrumentation products
• To develop and manage the mechanical engineering activities of major and minor projects to ensure that they are delivered safely, accurately and on time
• Modelling, analysis and the development of mechanisms
• Involved in building and developing prototypes
• Conducting design reviews
• Producing the relevant documentation that is required
• Driving continuous improvement
