Experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required by our innovative market-leading automation solutions client to deliver bespoke machinery and MHE designs for a diverse range of clients.

Our client has been established for over 20 years and is recognized as a market leader in providing bespoke, innovative materials handling and automation solutions across various industry sectors in the UK. Due to continued success and strategic growth, they are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Design Engineer to join their dynamic team.

In this role, you will work within the Design team, creating cutting-edge solutions for clients in industries such as Parcel, Ecommerce, Manufacturing, and Robotics. You will be responsible for transforming business data into innovative concepts that meet client needs, with responsibilities including:

• Understanding client requirements and developing solutions accordingly
• Developing design criteria, metrics, and material flow diagrams
• Identifying and mitigating technical and safety risks
• Reviewing operational processes and KPIs, assessing business justifications like ROI
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
• Presenting concepts to clients and influencing decisions
• Understanding WCS functionality and liaising with the software team
• Supporting the design process with test specifications and contract documents

Candidates should have proven experience in bespoke machine design, material handling, and robotics. A degree in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous but not essential. Ideally, candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in a senior design environment, proficiency in SolidWorks, and experience with logistics and supply chain solutions.
