Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

A great opportunity to join a well established, independently owned M&E Consultancy with a proven reputation.

As the successful candidate, you will be reporting to the Director, and will assist withmanaging the Mechanicalengineers within the Project Team, with technicalsupport from the Business Director. You will beworking on a variety of projects including commercial, education, sport and leisure, hospitality, manufacturing, healthcare, mixed use and residential.

Job Summary

As the successful Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for acting as a Project Lead on a selection of projects, includingresponsibility for financial control, resourcing management, internal projectcoordination, administration and client liaison. You will also be:

• Responsible for acting as a Leader of the Mechanical section of the project team,including responsibility for the design, design quality, performance, work processes andresourcing management of the Project Team.
• Responsible for managing a selection of client accounts and carrying out businessdevelopment activities for the business.
• Responsible for assisting the project Director in advising on the resourcing andperformance of the group, setting mid-term goals, organising weekly team meetingsand seeking ways of improving the efficiency and productivity of the team.
• Promoting the business' can-do attitude ensuring this is instilled in every project andimparted by all within the MEP design team.

Duties

• You will be working on multiple projects and organise your own work load, meeting all assigned deadlines agreed with the Project Lead.
• Responsible for full detailed mechanical design and should expect to
  complete these exercises on your own with support from the Project Lead.
• Responsible for calculation works to prove design for domestics,
  ventilation, heating and cooling systems..
• Coordinate design with mechanical design members.
• Feed into design team meetings with some attendance where required, where applicable alongside Project Lead and report back to the wider design team on progress and actions.
• Manage personal design work loads providing completed works to
  the Project Lead for QA in a timely manner. Dates should be agreed with project lead and aligned with client target dates to ensure timely issue of information.
• Constantly seek ways of improving the efficiency of your work and of your team.
• Assist sustainability engineers with modelling input data and criteria,
  this should also include the review of completed reports issued by the department for correctness.
• Show great involvement in teamwork and promote consultation and collaboration with your team fellows.
• Contribute with the development of junior team members.
• Ensure all QA procedures and guidelines are followed.

Technical Ability

As the successful Mechanical Design Engineer you willbefully conversant with current building regulations, CIBSEdocumentation, British standards, BISREA documentation and all other general designguides associated with the building services industry

It is essential that you are IT literate, with a working knowledge of office,
AutoCAD and Hevacomp.

Ideally you will be registered as a minimum as aMember of CIBSE or be working towards accreditation, with a minimum of 6-7 years experience in the Building Services industry.
