Job summary

SII UK is seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsperson to support a Hardware Engineering function. You will produce and review high-quality 2D drawings from 3D CAD models, ensuring BS 8888 compliance and clear documentation.

You will collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineers to validate tolerances, GD&T, and drawing control, contributing to robust drafting standards and project delivery across UK offices.

Qualifications

• Strong drafting/draughting experience in mechanical engineering.
• Excellent understanding of BS 8888 and drafting standards.
• Solid knowledge of GD&T, datum structures, and tolerancing.
• Experience producing detailed 2D drawings from 3D CAD models.
• Proficient CAD user with clear revision and document control practices.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review high-quality 2D mechanical drawings from 3D CAD models.
• Check drawings for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with BS 8888.
• Review GD&T, datum structures and tolerancing approaches.
• Ensure drawing revisions and title blocks are correct and traceable.
• Support engineers with tolerance strategies and CAD issue resolution.
• Develop and improve drawing documentation guidelines.
