Job summary

Alexander Associates is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design delivery for water and wastewater projects. You will produce and check drawings, specifications, and calculations, and ensure designs meet programme and budget constraints.

You will coordinate with other disciplines, contribute to 3D plant/site models, and work with construction teams to ensure buildability. The role also involves supporting proposals, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining stakeholder

Qualifications

• Significant experience in mechanical engineering design within water, wastewater, or process engineering.
• Experience designing mechanical aspects of water or wastewater treatment plants.
• Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce and check mechanical design deliverables (drawings, specs, schedules, calculations).
• Develop cost-effective designs meeting project specifications, programme and budget.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with other disciplines and contribute to 3D plant/site models.
• Collaborate with construction teams, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure buildable designs.
• Support proposals and tenders with technical input and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, CDM 2015 and safety requirements.
• Contribute to development of engineering processes and procedures.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers.
• Maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships throughout delivery.
