Job summary

Alexander Associates Limited is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead civil design activities on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role is fully remote within the UK and operates on a long-term contract basis, delivering robust, buildable solutions that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing civil solutions for water/wastewater facilities.
• Able to produce calculations, reports, drawings and specs.
• Experience in regulated engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design tasks to agreed technical standards, budgets and programmes.
• Develop civil engineering designs, calculations, layouts, specifications and technical documentation for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Produce cost-effective civil solutions that consider constructability, safety, operational requirements and whole-life costs.
• Review and assure civil design outputs within your area of authority, ensuring quality and compliance with company and industry standards.
• Coordinate civil design activities with Process, Mechanical, EICA, Structural, Digital and Commissioning teams to support integrated project delivery.
• Identify and manage technical risks, design issues and opportunities for optimisation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the design of civil infrastructure including reinforced concrete structures, buried structures, drainage systems, pipelines, earthworks, highways and site development works.
• Mentor junior engineers, graduates and apprentices, sharing knowledge and supporting technical development across the team.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, discipline leads, project teams, suppliers and site teams.
