Job summary

Alexander Associates is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead civil design on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role is fully remote within the UK and involves coordinating with Process, Mechanical, EICA, and Structural teams to deliver integrated designs.

The ideal candidate has strong civil design experience in regulated environments and a track record of mentoring junior engineers as part of project delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong civil design experience in water/wastewater utilities or similarly regulated environments.
• Understanding of treatment works, pumping stations and associated infrastructure.
• Experience producing and reviewing civil calculations, reports and drawings.
• Ability to deliver practical, buildable designs with safety and life-cycle costs in mind.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and project delivery.
• Chartered or aspiring to Chartership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design tasks to meet technical standards, budgets and programmes.
• Develop designs, calculations, layouts, specs and documentation for water and wastewater projects.
• Produce cost-effective civil solutions prioritising constructability, safety and life-cycle costs.
• Review and assure outputs for quality and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate activities with Process, Mechanical, EICA, Structural and other teams.
• Mentor engineers, graduates and apprentices within the team.
• Build strong client and supplier relationships to support delivery.
