Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Mechanical Senior Design Engineer for the Water Sector in Bristol. You will join the Engineering Design Team and work with Principal Engineers and Design Leads to deliver high-quality design in accordance with GT processes, BMS, and H&S regulations.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree level in Engineering or other equivalent qualification.
• Experience in the Municipal Water and Wastewater sectors with multiple clients.
• Chartered member of a recognised professional Engineering body preferred.
• Knowledge of H&S legislation and British Standards.
• Experience reviewing subcontractor documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical compliance and quality on design outputs.
• Seek optimal, cost-effective designs balancing capital and operational costs.
• Assist in CDM compliance and ensure buildability and safe construction.
• Support the Discipline Manager and Principal Engineers with knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Collaborate with procurement and site teams to align design with project delivery.
