Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Water)

We are recruiting multiple Senior Mechanical Design Engineers (Water) for various long-term frameworks across the UK.

RPS, along with Tetra Tech, has secured a £100 million framework from United Utilities to enhance river health in Northwest England. With over 20 years of collaboration with United Utilities, RPS offers exciting opportunities in the water industry, especially as we approach AMP8.

Our team, RPS Water Consulting, comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts delivering Asset Management and Operational Strategy for water clients. We work on prestigious AMP8 programs leading into AMP9 and beyond, ensuring long-term career growth.

About You:

You should have experience producing technical specifications, designing pumping and aeration systems, and collaborating on design reviews. Familiarity with drawing tools like AutoCAD and experience with water and wastewater treatment processes are essential. Strong communication skills for client and team interactions are required.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work on various projects across UK water frameworks.
• Support project delivery with senior team members.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Understand technical drawings and asset surveys.
• Prepare mechanical design deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (IMechE accredited).
• Chartered or working towards chartership.
• Experience with pump design, P&ID creation, and safety regulations.
