We are recruiting multiple Principal Mechanical Design Engineers (Water) for long-term frameworks across the UK. RPS, alongside Tetra Tech, has secured a £100 million framework from United Utilities to improve river health in Northwest England. With over 20 years working with United Utilities, we are at an exciting phase as we approach AMP8, offering opportunities to create positive change in the water industry.
Under this 10-year framework, RPS will optimize programs, develop solutions, and select the best options based on value, low carbon, and cost, aiming to deliver exceptional water services and foster a resilient, eco-friendly Northwest.
Our Water Consulting team includes Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy to support business planning. We work with several major water companies across the UK, managing a broad portfolio of long-term frameworks. Our projects include prestigious AMP8 programs leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career development.
You should have experience producing technical outputs like specifications, pump and aeration system designs, and reports. Familiarity with collaborative planning, design reviews, and safety assessments (HAZOPs, ALMs) is essential. Strong communication skills are required to deliver technical presentations and participate in design discussions. Joining us means contributing to impactful projects, working with leading water companies, and leaving a lasting legacy in the UK water industry.
Personal development plans, clear career pathways, and a supportive environment. We value diversity, ideas, and perspectives, fostering an inclusive workplace that prioritizes wellbeing.
