Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Water)

We are currently recruiting multiple Senior Electrical Design Engineers (Water) for various long-term frameworks across the UK.

RPS, along with Tetra Tech, has secured a £100 million framework from United Utilities to improve river health in Northwest England. We have over 20 years of collaboration with United Utilities on innovative projects.

This 10-year framework aims to optimize programs, develop solutions, and select the best options based on value, low carbon footprint, and cost, contributing to resilient and eco-friendly water services in the Northwest.

About The Team:

RPS Water Consulting comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy services to water industry clients, supporting business planning and delivery. We work with several major water companies across the UK, with a broad portfolio of long-term frameworks.

Our water projects include leading programs into AMP8 and beyond, offering long-term career stability and legacy opportunities.

About You:

You will handle technical project delivery, monitor budgets, meet deadlines, and ensure quality standards, aiming to exceed client expectations. Joining us means working on impactful projects with leading industry professionals, making a positive difference in communities across the UK.

Your Responsibilities:

• Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, safety, and environmental standards.
• Develop innovative, optimized technical solutions based on client needs.
• Lead and coordinate work with multidisciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICA).
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and partners regarding project technical, commercial, and progress matters.
• Support design and advisory services for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and assets.
• Produce and review complex electrical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
• Manage the technical delivery of multidisciplinary projects, utilizing digital design techniques.
• Mentor and develop performance of assigned staff.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Extensive experience in process plant systems within complex water industry projects.
• Hands-on experience in water and wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in digital design within design-build projects.
• Leadership experience within technical or discipline teams.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical field; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Membership or nearing membership with professional institutions like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM.
