Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd in Torquay is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own mechanical development from concept to implementation. The role is office-based in Devon, with hands-on design, prototyping, and collaboration on electromechanical projects within a regulated environment.

You should have a mechanical engineering background, be confident with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD, and be able to communicate decisions clearly while taking ownership of projects.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background with design experience.
• SolidWorks or other 3D CAD experience.
• Understanding of how mechanical designs interact with electronics and wider systems.
• Ability to work independently and own projects.
• Knowledge of pressure systems, pipework, valves or pumps (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and prototypes using 3D CAD.
• Test ideas on the product with hands-on prototyping.
• Own projects and collaborate on broader electromechanical development.
• Document design work clearly within a regulated environment.
