Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Cambridge to drive design from early concepts through high‑volume manufacture for next‑generation medical devices. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop precision mechanical systems and lead designs into scalable production, with a hands‑on approach across projects.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering, strong 3D CAD skills, and proven experience in medical devices, injection moulding, and tolerance

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience developing medical devices is a must.
• Strong 3D CAD skills.
• Knowledge of injection moulding and high-volume manufacturing processes is a must.
• Understanding of precision mechanisms and tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of designs from concept through to production
• Develop precision mechanical components and assemblies
• Produce 3D CAD drawings and supporting documentation
• Support prototype builds, testing, and engineering investigations
• Apply DFM and DFA principles to optimise designs for scalable production
• Assess tolerance stack-ups and the impact of manufacturing variation on performance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative technology company developing cutting-edge medical devices. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in the development of precision mechanical systems for next- drug delivery products, taking designs from early-stage concepts through to high-volume manufacture
