Job summary

Caudwell Marine Limited in Coventry is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own complex mechanical components from concept through production-intent release. You will lead 3D CAD design, GD&T and first-principles calculations, collaborating with CAE, Manufacturing, Quality and suppliers to deliver robust, serviceable propulsion systems.

Qualifications

• Experience developing complex mechanical components from concept to release.
• Strong 3D CAD with production-intent drawings and GD&T.
• Solid fundamentals in engineering calculations and materials knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own components and work packages from concept through release.
• Develop concepts, 3D CAD assemblies and production drawings.
• Apply first-principles methods and calculations to robust solutions.
• Design for performance, durability, manufacture and serviceability.
• Define load cases with CAE and Validation, review results.
• Lead or support design reviews and risk assessments (DFMEA).
• Support prototype builds, ensure CAD/Drawing/BOM control.
• Collaborate across Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and suppliers.
