M-Sport UK, a leading motorsport engineering house, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical) to lead design and development of high-performance components. You will own projects, produce CAD models and drawings, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include design validation, engineering analysis, change control, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver on schedule. This role is based at Dovenby Hall and requires a passion for motorsport.

Qualifikationen

• BEng or MEng degree in Motorsport Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience designing mechanical components and assemblies in a high-performance engineering environment.
• Experience taking technical ownership of projects and mentoring other engineers.
• Strong proficiency using 3D CAD software to create complex models and detailed drawings.
• Solid understanding of machining, fabrication, assembly processes, materials and manufacturing methods.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals including GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturing.
• High accuracy and attention to detail when producing documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication within a multidisciplinary team.
• Logical, analytical problem solving and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to manage workloads effectively and deliver tasks on time.

Aufgaben

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components, systems and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Take technical ownership of allocated projects and provide engineering guidance to junior engineers.
• Produce, review and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs and documentation to standards.
• Lead generation and evaluation of innovative engineering concepts for robust solutions.
• Carry out engineering calculations, tolerance analyses and design reviews.
• Support prototype manufacture, testing and development, analyze results and implement design improvements.
• Manage engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle and ensure configuration control.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, workshop, purchasing, quality and event teams to deliver on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost.
• Manage workloads and priorities to meet project quality and timescale.
