Job summary

M-Sport UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join the Design team at Dovenby Hall. You will design electrical systems, wiring harnesses and circuits, using 3D CAD to meet performance, reliability and manufacturing requirements.

You will collaborate across mechanical, electrical, workshop and quality teams, driving design improvements through prototype and test cycles, while maintaining rigorous documentation and configuration control.

Qualifications

• Engineering Qualification: BEng or MEng in Motorsport/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing electrical systems, circuits, wiring harnesses or components in high-performance engineering environments.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software to create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and detailed documentation.
• Good understanding of electrical assembly, wiring harness manufacture, connectors and manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, sensors, actuators and vehicle electrical architectures.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail when producing engineering documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
• Logical and analytical approach to troubleshooting electrical engineering challenges.
• Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Competent user of Microsoft Office and engineering software packages.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design of systems, wiring harnesses, circuits and components using 3D CAD, meeting performance and manufacturing requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve electrical system performance, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Support prototype manufacture, testing and development programmes with design improvements.
