Job summary

Morgan Ryder Associates is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in machine tools, SPMs, or bespoke automated systems to design and build high-value machinery used in advanced manufacturing worldwide.

You will take projects from concept through to build and commissioning, designing mechanisms and complete machines, with involvement across the full lifecycle and collaboration with manufacturing, assembly, and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Min 5 years design experience in machine tool design, SP M or bespoke automation.
• Experience designing moving assemblies and complex systems.
• Ability to work across the full machine lifecycle from concept through commissioning.
• Desirable: 3D CAD experience (Siemens NX).
• Familiarity with DFMEA/PFMEA, design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design new machine systems, mechanisms and components.
• Modify and improve existing machine designs to meet customer requirements.
• Work on machine tool design, tooling and automated systems.
• Support manufacturing and assembly during build and commissioning.
• Produce CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Manage BOMs and part releases via SAP.
• Conduct design reviews, DFMEA and PFMEA.
• Support technical bids and customer documentation.
