Job summary

Light & Wonder, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical/electromechanical product design from concept to production.

You will create 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation in a fast-paced gaming hardware environment, translating customer needs into robust, manufacturable solutions. You’ll drive DFx activities, oversee prototyping and testing, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with electronics, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Significant mechanical product design & development experience in manufacturing.
• Expert‑level proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
• Experience in electromechanical products and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of mechanical/electromechanical products from concept to production.
• Create and review 3D CAD models, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Translate customer and business requirements into robust, manufacturable designs.
• Drive DFx activities to optimise performance and cost.
• Lead design reviews, investigations, and problem‑solving to deliver quality solutions.
• Plan prototyping, testing, verification, and validation.
• Collaborate with electronics, software, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and suppliers.
• Identify risks and support project planning and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
• Support engineering changes and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Provide mentoring and technical leadership.
