Job summary

Linea Resourcing - STEM Recruiter invites an engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team designing electro-mechanical devices for a global customer base. This role focuses on robust mechanical design, 3D modelling and leading edge safety-critical projects.

You will develop solutions using SolidWorks, manage design from concept through production, and liaise with stakeholders across the business, applying FMEA, DfA, and DfM tools throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive mechanical design experience in a complex electro-mechanical environment.
• Experience with load bearing mechanisms, including calculations and wear/failure analysis.
• Experience with plastics, metals, castings, sheet steel and composites.
• Strong knowledge of FMEA, DfA, DfM and full project lifecycle.
• Proven ability to plan and manage design projects in a structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop electro-mechanical design solutions using 3D modelling software.
• Plan and manage projects from concept to production, including time, budget and risk.
• Demonstrate design solutions with appropriate engineering tools.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Define and execute product testing and evaluation.

• Developing electro-mechanical design solutions including mechanisms, enclosures and fixtures using 3D modelling software
• Project planning and management from concept through to production including time, budget, resource and risk management
• Use appropriate engineering tools to demonstrate suitability of design solutions
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Define and execute product testing an evaluation

Your experience and skills:

• Extensive mechanical design experience in a complex electro-mechanical environment using SolidWorks
• Design experience with load bearing mechanisms, including load calculations, wear and failure analysis
• Experience designing components using plastics, machined metals, castings, sheet steel and composites
• Sound understanding of FMEA, DfA, DfM, full project lifecycle
• Successful project planning / project management of design projects in a structured design engineering environment
