Job summary

ARCA Consulting Ltd is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of complex mechanical products from concept through to production in a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with production, supply chain and wider engineering teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires degree-qualified mechanical engineering, extensive experience in mechanical product design, advanced SolidWorks CAD skills, and a proven track record of delivering

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Significant experience in mechanical product design.
• Advanced 3D CAD capability, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience designing manufactured products rather than one-off concepts.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, machining and assembly processes.
• Experience taking products from concept through to production.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical products and assemblies.
• Produce 3D CAD models, drawings and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and design validation activities.
• Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support prototype development, testing and product improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Manage multiple engineering projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Support junior engineers through technical mentoring and guidance.
