Job summary

Colebrook Bosson Saunders in London is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (FEA Champion) to lead structural analysis across product lines, ensuring reliability, manufacturability and performance from concept to production. You will drive simulation-led design and mentor engineers, championing standards and data-driven decisions.

You will coordinate with manufacturing, industrial design and testing teams, oversee major design reviews, and contribute to sustainability, weight reduction

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical design experience with emphasis on FEA and simulation-led development.
• Proven expertise in structural analysis using ANSYS or equivalent tools.
• DfMA knowledge for plastics and metals with proven project delivery.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all FEA and simulation activities across multiple product lines, ensuring structural integrity and manufacturability.
• Define and maintain analysis standards, processes and validation criteria.
• Drive automation, material modelling and correlation between simulation and testing.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, mentoring and reviewing work to enhance capability.
• Lead major design reviews and present analytical findings to stakeholders.
• Support sustainability improvements, weight reduction and cost optimization.
