Job summary

The role requires deep expertise in structural analysis, DfMA knowledge, and the ability to influence decisions across cross-functional teams. This permanent position is based in London.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical design experience with FEA/simulation-led development.
• Proven expert in structural analysis using ANSYS or equivalent.
• Able to manage large, complex engineering projects independently.
• Deep understanding of DfMA (plastic injection moulding and metal casting).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to guide design decisions.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical workstreams.
• Strong communication and influencing skills for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead all FEA and simulation activities across multiple product lines, ensuring structural integrity, reliability and manufacturability.
• Act as the technical authority for structural performance and analysis methodologies, defining standards and validation criteria.
• Drive continuous improvement in analysis capability, including automation and material modelling.
• Provide advanced technical guidance to mechanical design engineers and review their work.
• Delegate analysis/design tasks to junior staff, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Provide technical leadership within the engineering function, applying simulation-led design principles.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure data-driven decisions.
