Job summary

Jackie Kerr Recruitment - Engineering and Manufacturing in the UK seeks an experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end design and delivery of products from concept through volume manufacture. You will own product briefs, design architectures, and ensure platform alignment with strategy.

You will perform detailed part design, prototype creation, testing, and formal documentation while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining high quality and manufacturability in line

Qualifications

• Hands-on design experience across multiple products and sub-systems.
• 3D CAD design and integration into complete assemblies.
• Ability to own technical direction and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Write clear Product Briefs with scope and requirements.
• Design product architectures and interfaces to meet briefs.
• Perform DFMA, design for manufacture analyses; manage tolerances.
