Morgan Hunt UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Building Services team in Glasgow. You will lead mechanical design across diverse projects, delivering HVAC, public health, and related systems from concept to completion.

You will coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines, attend client reviews, and ensure compliance with UK regulations and standards. You will mentor junior engineers, manage workloads and schedules, and contribute to

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Significant experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water services, and renewables.
• Experience using Hevacomp, IES VE, Revit MEP, AutoCAD and MagiCAD.
• Understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and relevant British Standards.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Buildings

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing Building Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who enjoys delivering innovative, sustainable, and technically excellent mechanical building services designs across a diverse range of projects. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will lead the mechanical design of projects from concept through to completion, ensuring high-quality technical delivery while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

Role

• Lead the mechanical design of building services projects across multiple sectors.
• Produce detailed designs for HVAC, public health, and associated mechanical systems.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate designs with electrical, structural, architectural, and other design disciplines.
• Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections.
• Ensure compliance with current regulations, British Standards, and industry best practice.
• Review and check the work of junior engineers and provide technical guidance and mentoring.
• Manage project workloads, budgets, and programme deliverables.
• Contribute to the development of sustainable, low-carbon engineering solutions.

Qualifications / Experience

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water services, and renewable technologies.
• Experience using industry-standard software such as Hevacomp, IES VE, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and MagiCAD (or equivalent).
• A sound understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance, and relevant British Standards.
