Job summary

Eaton Wimborne is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Mechanical Design Engineering team. You will drive mechanical designs and produce production drawings across product lines, from bids through to production release.

Responsibilities include concept design, stress and tolerancing analysis, Six-Sigma/DfX application, and cross‑functional collaboration with suppliers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Good engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years in an engineering design & development organisation.
• Aerospace experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead design work across multiple projects from concept to production drawings.
• Perform stress, performance and tolerancing calculations.
• Apply Six-Sigma and DFM principles to optimize designs.
• Present solutions to peers and customers and support supply chain inquiries.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure drawings meet specifications.
