Job summary

Eaton's Aerospace division in Wimborne, Dorset, is seeking a Lead Electrical Test Design Engineer to provide technical leadership for automated electrical test solutions in aerospace applications. The role leads projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring safety, robustness and maintainability, while mentoring engineers and collaborating across Eaton sites, suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Engineering or science degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years in engineering, manufacturing, aerospace or related field.
• Experience with automated test equipment and software-controlled test systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for complex electrical test design activities and documentation.
• Lead electrical test solutions from concept to operational use with safety, value, reuse, and maintainability considerations.
• Define the technical approach for assigned ATE projects and work packages.
• Review and approve technical documentation relating to requirements, design, verification and test procedures.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex electrical test design issues.
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers to improve capability and practice.
• Apply aerospace engineering principles to problems involving electrical systems and lab instrumentation.
• Support root cause investigations, corrective actions and technical reviews of test equipment and processes.
• Collaborate across Eaton sites, functions, suppliers and customers to align technical approaches.
