Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager – FM Sector Belfast

Artemis Executive Search is working in partnership with a long-established, privately owned business in the facilities management and mechanical services sector to appoint a Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager.

This is a key leadership role with the potential to shape and grow the department, offering real autonomy and the chance to lead mechanical projects across Northern Ireland — with future opportunities in the UK and ROI as the business expands.

The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical installations, service, and maintenance projects, particularly within the public sector and live building environments. Projects span HVAC, heating systems, domestic hot water, plumbing, and gas/oil installations.

In this role, you will:

Oversee the delivery of multiple mechanical contracts, including MTC and minor works frameworks.

Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget — managing both in-house teams and the external supply chain.

Work closely with clients, consultants, and senior managers, building trusted relationships and maintaining high service standards.

Contribute to programme planning, risk management, and identifying potential cost efficiencies.

Ensure compliance with all relevant mechanical legislation and HSEQ standards.

We’re keen to speak to people with:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing self-delivered mechanical works on MTC frameworks or minor works, ideally within live, public sector buildings.

Strong knowledge of mechanical compliance including gas, oil, water safety, and legionella control.

Proven ability to lead both direct labour and supply chain partners effectively.

Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical installation practices and the ability to assess programmes, mitigate risk, and drive efficiencies.

Confident communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable working with clients and senior stakeholders.

Good working knowledge of health & safety legislation and industry standards.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.

A full, valid driving licence.
